Renew Communities is an inclusive network of missions and ministries,
creating imaginative expressions of Gospel justice and hope in Wellington City. We are part of the Anglican Diocese of Wellington.
We are comprised of local worshipping communities, residential missional communities, and charities and businesses which seek to bring about Godʼs Kingdom in our city. Our mission is to renew dying corners of the local church.

Our Charism
Costly Community
To truly belong together requires sacrifice. We seek to get beyond small- talk, into the messy corners of each othersʼ lives. We think youʼre not really family until youʼve had your first fight.
Pentecostal Spirituality
The Holy Spirit is at work in the earth. We seek a spirituality that is grounded in the world, but believes that the God of heaven also moves in miraculous and unexplainable power.
Jesus Centred
Jesus is our central pole. Our work and worship move in and through him. He is our friend, our brother, and our Lord.
Aotearoa New Zealand
We follow Jesus in Aotearoa, New Zealand. We think land matters to God, so we’re on a continuing and proactive journey to learn what being a faithful partner with Tangata Whenua looks like.
Missional Zeal
There is no version of following Jesus that isnʼt missional. As Christ gave his life, we seek to give our lives for those who suffer in our neighbourhoods.
Anglican Tradition
We are not the first ones to do this. We seek to learn from the scripture, reason, and tradition that God has inhabited long before we got here.
